Source systems
The source systems maintain the data that is imported into the Signifikant Product Information Management database. The source systems will periodically export selected information to XML, CSV, xlsx, or custom formats. This process can be controlled by e.g. a Windows task scheduler, Azure Logic Apps, the Signifikant task scheduler, or by any other task scheduler that may be available in the source systems themselves. The information will be exported to a designated area per source system from where the Signifikant Server can find the files to transform and import them to the Signifikant aftermarket database.

Import
The Signifikant Server has an API to automatically transform, validate and import the information exported by the source systems. This can be controlled by the built-in Signifikant task scheduler or any other task scheduler that you prefer (see list above).
It is also possible to open the Signifikant Manager Client (the Signifikant authoring tool), which connects to the Signifikant Server, and manually import the exported information from the Source systems.

Manage
The Signifikant Manager Client is the tool that is used to enrich, add, modify and validate the aftermarket information. In this tool, you can add any element of information (parts, images, part assemblies, illustrations, documents, bulletins, filters, replacements, catalogues, etc., etc.) and modify the attributes.

Publish and Export
The Signifikant Server has an API to automatically validate and publish the information from the Signifikant aftermarket database to multiple channels. This can be controlled by the built-in Signifikant task scheduler or any other task scheduler that you prefer (see list above). It is also possible to open the Signifikant Manager Client (the Signifikant authoring tool), which connects to the Signifikant Server, and manually publish or export the information.

Channels
Publications include PDFs, online spare part catalogue, and offline spare part catalogue (synchronization site). Exports will create XML files for all information elements in the database. The content of the publications and exports can be limited based on information status (e.g. draft, review, accepted), language, permissions, catalogue, etc. Published databases can have an expiry date.

Integrate to target systems
Integrations are built using the Signifikant providers, which is a plugin framework to provide functionality and data access to the Signifikant Web Viewer. With providers, you can hook into external systems to retrieve information about price, availability, order status, etc., or to log in using an Active Directory and retrieve the appropriate groups a user belongs to. Other integrations include the possibility to use an external shopping cart and to place orders to an external ERP system.
